Conductive cloth material is first electroplated with metallic nickel on the polyester fiber, and then plated with a high conductivity copper layer, then plated with anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion nickel metal. The combination of copper and nickel provides excellent electrical conductivity and good electromagnetic shielding effect, shielding range in 100K-3GHz.
Conductive Cloth Tape Classification
- By color: grey conductive cloth tape; black conductive tape
- By Surface Pattern: Plain conductive cloth tape; Plaid conductive tape
- By Flame Rating: Flame retardant conductive tape; Non-flame-retardant conductive tape
- By adhesive: Conductive hot melt cloth tape, covered with a layer of hot melt adhesive, commonly used in the production of conductive foam products; Conductive cloth tape, covered with a layer of conductive adhesive, commonly used in die-cutting processing molding.
- By structure: Single-sided conductive cloth tape and double-sided conductive cloth tape.
Features of Conductive Cloth Tape
- Excellent electrical conductivity and shielding effect.
- Good metal bonding and Z-directional conductivity.
- Good adhesion to a wide variety of materials.
- Good processability (NF35B050): soft texture, no burr in slitting, handprint dirt resistance, anti-oxidation treatment.
- Good friction resistance: up to 5,000,000 times of friction resistance (NF35B050, ASTM D 4966).
Application Of Conductive Cloth Tape
Conductive cloth tape is very widely used for computers, cell phones, wires, cables and other types of electronic and electrical products, mainly in high frequency transmission to mask or isolate the interference of electromagnetic waves or infinite waves.
Why Conductive Cloth Tape Basically Is Gray?
Grey is the original color of conductive cloth, after processing, it is still grey. The common application of conductive cloth tape is in electronic and electrical appliances for shielding and conductive effect, so there are no requirements for its color. Black conductive cloth tape has extra processing and the cost will increase. And it can’t be used in most cases. Therefore, most of conductive cloth tape are grey.
Tips on Conductive Cloth Tape Use and Storage
- When conductive cloth tape is used in the natural environment of low magnetic state, the tape should be warmed up to room temperature (about 20 ℃) for more than three hours before using.
- Conductive cloth tapes is required to packed with wrapping paper or film, and loaded in the appropriate carton.
- Conductive cloth tape should be placed in a cool place, avoid high temperature or high humidity. Quality assurance period is 6 months after production.
